Gaines, a 6-foot-5 freshman forward from Wayne County, had 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block in a 98-61 win over Louisiana Christian Prep. He followed that up with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assist in a 76-64 victory over Hinds.
